ESSpa is excited to introduce two unique versions of The Bohr Effect Facial – both of these treatments utilize CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) as the main ingredient. The name describes hemoglobin’s lower affinity for oxygen secondary to an increase in the partial pressure of carbon dioxide and/or decreased blood pH. This lower affinity, in turn enhances the absorption of oxygen into the tissues to meet the oxygen demand of the tissue. The result is skin tissue that is more active, energized, plump and youthful.
